What is Cryptography?

The study of cryptology can be divided into two different branches – cryptography and cryptanalysis. Cryptography is the art and science of making a cryptosystem that is capable of keeping messages secure. It employs mechanisms based on mathematical algorithms that provide fundamental information security services.

Cryptanalysis is the art and science of breaking ciphertext. It involves studying the mathematical mechanisms with the intention to break them. New cryptographic techniques require the study of cryptanalysis to test the strength and security of the cryptography. Join us on a journey through the history, mathematics and implementation of cryptography. We have something here for everyone so have a browse and learn the secret's of communication. Which journey is right for you?
